Be The Match Registry is coming to Ashland for a Bone Marrow Drive on October 29, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. The drive is open to the public and will be held near the Eagles Nest at Ashland University’s Student Center.
Your name and tissue type is added to Be The Match Registry at the Bone Marrow Drive. Registration takes about ten minutes and includes minimal paperwork and a cheek swab to determine your tissue type.
Adding your information to the registry means you will consider the possibility of becoming a donor should a match be found at a later date. Marrow transplants are used to cure life threatening illnesses like leukemia or lymphoma.
For your convenience, park at the upper Convocation Center at Ashland University and walk the covered bridge to the Student Center. Potential marrow donors should be between the ages of 18 and 44 and in relatively good health.
