Coming into the 21^st Century! Modernizing
the BWC
 
BWC is transitioning to a billing system that will provide more flexibility for employers while reducing overall systems costs. This change aligns BWC with standard industry practice and enables us to collect premiums before extending coverage. This transition becomes effective July 1, 2015, for private employers, and Jan. 1, 2016, for public employers. This conversion is part of BWC’s ongoing efforts to modernize its operations and provide better service to Ohio’s employers.
 
Lorrie Goodnight, Business Consultant
Lorrie Goodnight is a Business Consultant for the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC).  In this capacity, Lorrie partners with the Canton and Ashland area Governor’s Economic Development Representative, local chambers  of commerce and business associations to resolve issues affecting business expansion or retention. 

The business consulting program is an outgrowth of BWC’s renewed emphasis on customer service.  Its focus is on making the workers’ compensation system a strong asset for Ohio.  Business consultants are prepared to assist any employers who desire to open a business in Ohio, as well as any current Ohio employers with significant workers’ compensation issues. Lorrie serves employers in Ashland,  Medina, Portage,  Summit, Stark and Wayne counties.  Lorrie’s background and experience are in personnel and benefits administration. She joined BWC in 1994 as a regional administrative manager, responsible for  human resources, fiscal, claims, automation, labor and real estate functions in the Northeast Region. Prior to joining BWC, Lorrie served as personnel manager for  the Village of St. Edwards, and had previous personnel management experience with  a Texas construction company.  Lorrie is a graduate of Kent State University with majors in both business administration and personnel management and industrial relations.  Lorrie is located in the Canton customer service office.  Please feel free to contact her at: BWC, 400 Third Street SE, Canton, OH 44701.  (330) 471-0950.
