Camp because I said I would & The Nonprofit’s Mission
Located on 92 acres in Ohio, Camp because I said I would is a place of healing and resilience. The camp serves grieving families, community impact professionals, and soon, youth facing mental health struggles.
Programs at Camp:
? Family Bereavement Retreats – Free stays in resort cabins for families who lost a loved one in the last 24 months. Future programs will include mental health and resilience training.
? Resiliency Retreats – Workshops for teachers, first responders, and nonprofit workers to help them manage stress and avoid burnout.
? Youth Camps (Launching 2025) – Helping 12-17-year-olds develop practical resiliency skills and character.
Camp operations are funded through corporate retreats, events, and generous donations.
About the Nonprofit
because I said I would is a movement dedicated to accountability and character development. Founded by Alex Sheen in honor of his father, the organization promotes keeping promises through:
Promise Cards – Over 15.1M distributed worldwide to encourage personal responsibility.
Character Education – Teaching values like self-control, honesty, and perseverance in schools and workplaces.
Volunteer & Service Learning Projects – Hands-on experiences that reinforce accountability.
